Just as 18th century taverns served as the epicenter of the communities they served, so too does the Green Dragon Tavern & Museum in Carlsbad offer a warm, family-owned gathering place today for San Diego friends and neighbors of all ages. The welcoming atmosphere is surpassed only by the highly acclaimed and award winning menu. Each dish is curated by with a focus on seasonal, locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. For our 2nd time dining experience, I brought along a group of friends and family. Everyone absolutely loved the food, the generous portions, the excellent service, and the charming atmosphere. The museum was also a big hit, adding a unique historical touch to our visit. The spacious parking lot made the experience even more convenient. We're all already planning to return for another lunch date—or maybe even a dinner experience to enjoy its beauty at night. This place never disappoints! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food, history, and a welcoming environment.

The food tasted good but was served barely warm. The coffee tasted like instant. Our server was very slow and took forever to refill the coffee once and got the charges wrong on the credit cards. He seemed uninterested in creating a nice experience.

Sunday brunch and only one server? We had a reservation at 12:30 and didn’t get seated until 20 minutes later with no one else waiting for a table and plenty of tables available in the dining room. The problem was that they were seriously understaffed…at least in the dining room. What could have been a one hour dining experience turned into excruciating 2 hours with the long wait times for each course to come out and lack of attention from the waiter. Perhaps a basket of bread to appease the crowd? No, they don’t offer it, as we overheard when another patron asked for some. The food was okay, but came out hot, which was a plus. May try this place again…but maybe not

Our dining experience was perfect... we pretty much got seated close to our reservation time. Appetizers and cocktails came out in a reasonable time. Main courses came out together (we had a party of 6) and were delicious. Desert was fantastic. We never felt rushed, nor did we feel that they forgot about us. It was perfect. The ambiance of the place is really cool. While we were waiting to be seated, we checked out the museum... lot's a very cool early American (pilgrim type) stuff. I would recommend giving this place a try.

Two days in a row. We can't get enough of the Green Dragon. Our favorite restaurant. Great food only surpassed by friendly and attentive staff. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Also, a great spot for parties!!
