Just as 18th century taverns served as the epicenter of the communities they served, so too does the Green Dragon Tavern & Museum in Carlsbad offer a warm, family-owned gathering place today for San Diego friends and neighbors of all ages. The welcoming atmosphere is surpassed only by the highly acclaimed and award winning menu. Each dish is curated by with a focus on seasonal, locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. Craft cocktails, wines and 20 rotating local beers on tap pair perfectly with our savory fare. Our guests rave about our Maine lobster rolls, Shepherd's Pie, hand-tossed pizzas, fresh seafood, and braised short rib to name a few.

Two days in a row. We can't get enough of the Green Dragon. Our favorite restaurant. Great food only surpassed by friendly and attentive staff. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Also, a great spot for parties!!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this wonderful restaurant. The food is consistently delicious and the staff are the best anywhere. My friend and I shared a beet salad with salmon. Delaney split it in the back and cooked my salmon rare and my friend’s portion medium. Such thoughtful customer service. A great spot for birthday celebrations. I love 💕 Paul and this family.

We were a party of 7 for a pre-Xmas dinner. We all ordered a Guinness beer which was excellent, so smooth. Our Waiter, Donovan was excellent very personable and professional. The menu was perfect as my family has food issues, such as nut allergy, vegetarian, lactose intolerant and gluten-free. The menu was perfect for all my family Thank you!!!! Overall a positive experience and perfect place for my family. Another shout out to Donovan!!

The food here is always delicious- hearty, well prepared and generous portions. The service was a little off on my most recent visit- had to make requests for silverware, water refills, a coffee was forgotten, though the server was very polite and tried to be helpful. Maybe new or just distracted? Still a very good experience and I will go back.

While the food was ok, and understanding that it was a busy Thanksgiving, we waited a 1/2 hour for our reservation to be honored, and were asked three times for our name at the very disorganized entry. Inside, there were many empty, unset tables. No ambiance. Then the fun began! Went to the buffet twice before a single glass of the wine we ordered was served. Not even water was offered! Had to ask three times for our drinks. Very young, untrained and overwhelmed staff. Surprisingly, this restaurant offers a holiday buffet every year, so don’t know why it was so disorganized and staff so flustered. If they can’t handle it, maybe don’t do it? Very expensive for what was offered.

Outstanding Thanksgiving dinner! The staff went out of their way to make this a great experience for guests. The turkey and prime rib were both excellent and the candied yams may have been the best I have ever had dining out. We had never been here before and really enjoyed the museum after our meal. We will be returning again very soon. Thank you to the Green Dragon team for a very memorable experience.

First time to have Thanksgiving dinner at the Green Dragon. It was all we had hoped for. We’ll be back.
