Insignia Steak & Sushi is the creation of Anthony Scotto - Owner of Blackstone Steakhouse , Rare650 Prime Steak & Sushi, One10 Modern Italian Restaurant, Opus Steakhouse & The Halston American Kitchen and Bar.

Like its predecessors, Insignia's inspired menu features the finest prime dry-aged steaks and the freshest Sushi & Seafood, including fresh whole fish, served up in a chic, elegant atmosphere that is also a feast for the eyes. Picture a historic North shore mansion with cedar shakes, quarried stone and a beautiful turret combined with the energy and vibe of a trendy Las Vegas restaurant.     The service was great: the waiter was friendly and professional and the wait staff worked together nicely to ensure that we always had fresh water in our glasses. However, the menu was lacking variety; in fact, there was only one pasta dish available and it was unclear as to whether gluten-free would be available (via the menu). I would have liked to have seen more gluten-free dishes and/or the ability and/or open willingness to prepare menu items differently to cater to customers who might have food allergies. The portion sizes were small: despite the high prices of the entrees. We enjoyed the size and taste of our desserts, but would have rather had had larger entrees to have satisfied us. Needless to say, as first time visitors, we enjoyed the low lighting and "trendiness" of the venue, but we won't be returning to Insignia: due to the small portions and exhorbitantly high prices. Also, the restaurant ran out of a particular cut of meat that my husband had wishes to order, which was also disheartening. Many locals had recommended this restaurant to us, but we left feeling confused about all of the hype. Portion size really does matter. We don't mind paying higher prices to account for the elegant atmosphere; however, as guests, we left the restaurant feeling hungry, which shouldn't generally happen after a successful visit.

    Food, ambiance, and service was AMAZING!! Alex was so incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We had a wonderful evening and can’t wait to come back!

    Went for Price fix $69 3 course meal...my wife had the Mt. Fuji Roll for appitizer and Sushi lobster roll for dinner...$10 up charge... she was extremely pleased...I had the Insignia Tacos which were fine....and the filet mignon which was not A grade, rather tough.... sent it back for another menu option ..the Insignia Steakhouse Burger...yes essentially a $69 burger... not kobe... it was good.... but not that Price good....the wine was way over priced for a 6oz pour of mid level cab for $30.... and $18 for an out of the bottle cucumber martini...medicore at best.. so in a nutshell...$300 with tip... no matter how one looks at it way over priced.... money better spent on much better grade of food.... go to motor parkway and you can find three restaurants with in a short distance of each other...

    amazing steak and sushi. I drove 45 minutes to come back to Insignia after i moved further west from Smithtown. don't miss it.

    Excellent experience at Insignia. Food was delicious and the wait staff was courteous and attentive, it is pricey but a nice place to go for a special occasion.
