Izanami serves Japanese Izakaya fare: seasonally inspired small-plates meant for sharing, accompanied by the best sake list in the west. Please note that while we do our best to accommodate your seating, we cannot guarantee requests. We have been chosen by OpenTable diners as one of the 100 best restaurants for outdoor dining in America. Heaters and blankets assure you of a comfortable, safe dining experience year-round; dress warmly for optimal outdoor dining.

Unfortunately we have chosen to close down for December 2-3 all day and for December 4th for lunch. We will be opening for Dinner on the 4th starting at 5:00pm. This is due to renovations we will have to do to our kitchen.

    You have reserved a true traditional Japanese experience floor seating (with no well under the table for legs). Remove your shoes, and take a step onto our tatami room. A garden window view completes this unique dining experience. This is a unique experience, but it can be challenging for those with limited flexibility. Please let us know in advance if you need to change these reservations, as we will not be able to offer other options upon arrival. Children under 10 are not recommended.

    We've been to Izanami many times but for some reason it was the best ever this time! Every dish was delicious. We had the Onigiri which was the best ever. We had a shrimp and crab avocado roll which was delicious. On and on, every dish was great. The fried oysters were fabulous. I especially love the bar room. The decor is amazing. Thanks for a great night!

    Almost every dish we ordered was great. This is a restaurant we go back to for special occasions and have been doing so for years. We love Japanese food and the sashimi, Spicy tuna on crispy rice were first rate. The Japanese eggplant with miso is another of our favorites. The crab hand roll was ok. We would choose the fried oysters instead. We shared the short rib dish. It was delicious. The vanilla infused fennel and parsnip/pear purée amazing with the richness of the wagyu short ribs. Our dessert of the pear tart with vanilla ice cream was heavenly. And the birthday yuzu creamsicle with a cheese cake like filling was delicious. As always the service and ambiance perfect. A perfect evening of celebration.

    The decor and location are so great and make the experience. The nigiri and sashimi were the highlight for me and seemed very fresh and delicious. Prices were about to be expected from a tapas/higher end restaurant, from 12-30 a plate. Expensive but good food. The pork ribs had a bit of a strange odor to them but nothing was wrong must have had some kind of glaze that smelled strange. Service was fast and good, not exceptional as they were all very busy. We really enjoyed our meal!
