Jimmy V’s Osteria & Bar is a unique and modern restaurant was created with Jimmy Valvano’s passion and commitment to excellence, and a percentage of the restaurant’s revenue is donated to the V Foundation. Jimmy Valvano’s love for food is the influence behind our menu creation featuring local and seasonal dishes with an emphasis on delicious Italian/American down to earth and traditional comfort foods using local farm grown ingredients and straightforward preparations. Also, our culinary team focuses on shareable small-plates, to encourage groups to socialize in a convivial atmosphere, which is warm and inviting for family gatherings, a night on the town or toasting drinks with friends.

                                                                                Wow... when I booked a reservation, and it was wide open that should have been a sign. NEVER again. The restaurant was empty and even though we ordered drinks as soon as the waiter came, we waited at least 15 - 20 minutes for them. Also put in an appetizer with the drinks that NEVER came. Waiter told us everything would be out together as he brought my salad (main meal) but nope... never arrived. My daughter's grilled cheese (despite she ate it and said it was OK) looked disgusting the bread was not toasted (maybe a for a second),not buttered, nothing, and it looked like a big slice of Velveeta... half cooked. I wouldn’t have eaten it. But we were starving and had waited SO long and were trying to make it to our 7 pm show… this was a 5 pm reservation… The food in general left a lot to be desired. I never get to go out so experiences like this are 10X more disappointing... Also, when we gave the waiter our credit card, he disappeared for another 20 minutes, and we had to remind him to bring it back so we could fully check out and exit. Won't return, DO NOT recommend. So bad.

                                                                                Servers didn’t seem very happy. We waited a long time for our food and for our bill. Our app and meal came at the same time. The Meatball Smash was a hard sausage burger with tomato sauce, didn’t really taste like a meatball. The chicken parm was good. Also note the server was very apologetic and took the meal off our bill because we didn’t enjoy it.

The food was good, tasty, and arrived soon after ordering. The menu selections were varied. Overall it felt like a sports bar environment.

                                                                                This place sucks! How Jimmy V's family would associate his name with this place is beyond me. I thought it would be of the same quality of the original restaurant in Cary, oh hell no! NY Strip was under cooked and still tough as an old bowling shoe. $21 for a glass of Malbec that costs $10 a bottle at the store? Don't waste your time or money .....
