   I really wanted to live this as we were so excited Kingfisher used to be so good prior to COVID. Service was slow, food mediocre, we were served a baked potato so cold that butter wouldn’t melt. Prime rib was good but nothing I’d go back for. Very disappointing

   Arrival experience excellent. Food was terrific, I generally abhor eating food that requires me to use my hands extensively but ordered the lobster due to the enthusiasm of the chef and server over having it available. I am glad I did as my reluctance in grabbing the lobster was quickly overcome by the tasty treats protected by the nearly impenetrable shell I discovered within. The family style side of mashed potatoes and root vegetable were very well presented, and the tastes were awesome. The dessert was awesome. The service incredible. I would only have two things for improvement's sake: 1) During busy nights in the winter, having the fireplace lit prior to opening would be good. I understand trying to get it going with a full restaurant is challenging. 2) My martini was very watered down. I loved the blue cheese stuffed olives but any alcohol in the drink must have been negligible. Everything else was terrific. Great to see culinary staff out talking to tables.

   This was our first time there and we went there for Valentine's Day dinner. Very rustic place and the staff was nice. It was a bit spendy but it was good. It was a little bit hard to find because Google only takes you to the spa. So we were driving around trying to find a building that was lit up assuming that that was the place. We had to stop and ask people on a path where the restaurant was.

   this place is fabulous: a drink at the grotto, the cutest bar in the snow!!and Kingfisher dining room: the delicate FO soup! the gorgeous homemade pizza! Dough! Wow! Char! yes! the wine! the only down: all led lights need dimmers. too harsh. But this place is heaven! Get the l ighting dialed in, and there is no better spot in the snow on the east side of Wash

   Our family has been coming to Sleeping Lady and the Kingfisher for over 20 years. This was our first trip back since the Kingfisher reopened. We could not have had a more joyful return. We treasure our decades of Sleeping Lady memories. This trip was the most memorable so far. Our evening at the Kingfisher was the highlight of fabulous weekend. We have been to many of the most celebrated restaurants in Washington, New York, and elsewhere. No one has ever been more attentive to our family than the Kingfisher staff. Thank you all. We will be back again soon.

   We arrived for our reservation on time (even a few minutes early) and we were promptly seated. The large restaurant appeared to be nearly empty with only three tables full. We received water service as soon as we sat down, but then nearly 15 minutes had passed and not a single server stopped at our table to take our order. We patiently waited, hoping to order our drinks, but no one ever came, so we got up and left. We were looking forward to our visit as we’d never been, but definitely don’t plan to come back.

   Very disappointing: over priced, unimaginative food (e.g. self serve buckets of vanilla, chocolate & caramel ice cream for dessert), bland/no decor (especially when promoted as a special occasion New Year’s Eve meal) and careless bartending (e.g. asked for a cocktail to be served up; it arrived on the rocks; sent it back and received a drink made with Campari instead of rye)

    Decidimos cenar en este restaurante porque aceptan mesas grandes, fuimos mi familia y unas amistades. De inicio nos pasaron rápido a nuestra mesa pero después de eso todo fue decayendo, después de 10min de que nadue nis atendiera la que nos recibió nos pidió disculpas por no tener un mesero asignado, después la chica que nos asignaron tomo nota de las bebidas y alimentos y tardaron otros 20min en traernos las bebidas y ya ni hablar de los alimentos (cabe mencionar que el restaurante estaba poco ocupado). La comida como tal estuvo buena y bien servida, pero el tiempo de espera y los errores en lo que pedimos hizo que no fuera una buena experiencia. Adicionalmente tuvimos que solicitar que corrigieran la cuenta ya que teníamos un par de cosas que pedimos pero que nunca llegaron a la mesa
