Our inspiration is the Zeus Faber, one of many local fish that can be fished sustainably and from our shores; although it has a wonderful Latin come Greek name, it also has a very British name - John Dory. Faber is the Latin word for ‘Smith’ and as Smith is the most common name in English, we decided it sits well with our ethos - we want to be accessible to all.Setting us apart from the rest is our commitment to working with local fishmongers who run out to the coast each evening to collect day-boat fish and local ingredients. 'The Crabtree, with its spectacular position downstream from The River Cafe,has a huge sprawling garden, a glazed colonnade and frontage on to theThames shaded by a weeping willow. The prawns in chilli hot oil and the toastspread with tomatoes and onions were good, so much so we ordered themagain when we returned for Sunday lunch. Patri has several meanings, in Hindi it means Pavement, in Urdu it means Track and in ancient Sanskrit its means a vessel or small furnace. The name took us back to our origins and we decided to use Pavement, Tracks, and Furnace to come up with a street food menu containing all three elements. Opened in 1996 the Havelock Tavern is one of London's original gastro pubs. Unlike many others that have come and gone since, we have changed very little over that time. Rather than become a restaurant in an old pub building, we focus on being a pub that serves really good food. The atmosphere is lively and informal so that anyone can eat, drink and feel at home. We are not trying to be sophisticated, but aim to provide you with a good, relaxing time. Our customers are a good mix of locals and others who have made the journey to spend an afternoon or evening with us. You are just as likely to see a table of mates catching up over a few pints as a couple tucking in to three courses. We have background music playing just to add to the already vibrant atmosphere.

Great seafood restaurant that really knows how to prepare shellfish. Service was excellent and only slightly marred by a side disk being forgotten but when pointed out was rapidly rectified and removed from the bill. Thanks for a great meal.

Excellent customer service, superb quality of food and good portion sizes. Exceptional staff who went above and beyond to assist one of our party that was taken ill with blood pressure issues before leaving, waited patiently for ambulance service to arrive. Would highly recommend as received an all round excellent service ... would definitely come again. Plus the food was super yummy... xxx
