The building was originally the grocery section of the J.F. Cairns Dept. Store dating back to 1907. Taverna still maintains this historical charm and character, serving delicious, rustic, exceptionally well-prepared Italian food since 1969. Simultaneously comfortable and authentic, yet aspirational. We believe that keeping the food fresh, simple and whole is the secret to a successful dish. Italian food doesn't have to be complicated or elaborate to be spectacular.
