Grotta di Fuoco, which translates to Fire Cave, is an industrial, rustic space with subtle lighting, raw steel, reclaimed wood, and concrete finishes. Step inside, descend below street level, and enter our vision of a cave. As for the fire, our focal point is a wood burning oven right next to the bar. You can sit close enough to feel the warmth, hear the crackle, and smell the scent of food being cooked, all while being entranced by the open flame. In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. Had a wonderful dinner sitting at the bar this past Sunday night! Our bartender Darren was extremely attentive and courteous. The pork chop with red cabbage and the pot roast entrees were awesome. Enjoyed also the flourless chocolate desert. We will be back again!

Food was delicious. Burrata appetizer was very different and had excellent flavors. Chicken skewers and salmon were also excellent. Drink menu very well done. The Amalfi cocktail was very good. Would go back for sure.

Grotto never disappoints. I find the food great; something for everyone. Cocktail choices very acceptable and reasonable priced. The pizza is the best of the best. Total bill I find very moderate for what we had. We had a small pizza as an appetizer and a shrimp main course and a main course pasta and three alcoholic drinks and one soft drink. A little noisy but a wonderful dinner
