Abruzzo Italian Kitchen opened in December 2017. As is the Italian tradition, our focus is on the quality of our ingredients and simplicity of preparation. We cook by hand, from scratch, including all of our fresh pastas and wood fired pizzas. In addition to the Italian staples, we offer an extensive shared plates selection, grilled steaks, fresh seafood, and a small but decadent dessert list, all prepared in-house and served alongside an Italian-focused cocktail program and an Italian-centric wine list. Nice ambiance. I went specifically for locally sourced cuisine and they did not disappoint. Nice selections. Excellent trout. Such a nice place so we’re planning a return visit while vacationing in Whitefish.

The most amazing food we’ve had in a very long time. The grilled octopus is a MUST. We had never had it, and believe me when I say YOU NEED TO. I also had the fish special which was so delicious and the depth of flavor was immaculate. I’m gluten free (due to allergy) and so normally don’t have many options for desserts. All but one of their desserts were gluten free!!!! I had the flourless chocolate torte….and you maybe see where this is going….IT WAS PHENOMENAL. The service was exceptional. Will for sure be coming back here the next time we visit!! Thanks so much!

Salt Block Ribeye along with Lobster Mac n Cheese…we get them every single time and they never disappoint. Freestone is definitely the highlight of our dining options in the Flathead. Highly recommend!
