We are an authentic Italian wine café, proud to offer quality Sicilian wines and spuntini appetisers across the UK. In the spring of 2013 something extraordinary happened. Two Italian guys in their twenties met in Manchester to find out that they shared a unique passion; they both loved and missed, the Italian Aperitivo, the ritual of drinking, nibbling and relaxing after work. A daily occasion to share moments of happiness with friends and family. By the end of that very same year, Veeno was born: a place where everyone could enjoy great wines and the most authentic Spuntini – platters of meats, cheeses and other appetisers imported from strictly selected Italian producers. Our wines come from Caruso & Minini, our family vineyard back in Sicily where great-grandfather Antonio planted the first vines in the XIX century. The Country Living Magazine recommendation certainly didn’t disappoint. What an absolute gem. We had a superb evening. Faultless. The food was exceptional. Wine selection extensive. Service was fabulous. I would come back to Chester purely to revisit Covino!

Centrally located in Chester with multi story parking locally. Very smartly presented resaurant. Attentive staff in a relaxed atmosphere. All the courses were very well presented. The Lunch menu was resonably priced . Not the cheapest restaurant to dine at but well worth a visit if you like fine dining.

Clearly a popular venue early on a Saturday evening. More an Italian wine bar which includes food rather than a restaurant. Never the less the pizza and pasta dishes we had were up to expectations and tasty. We had wine at the cheaper end of the wine list (£22/bottle) which was quite acceptable. We will resist the temptation on future visits to try wine at £95 a bottle!
