Inspired by yakitori izakayas, Big Night is going to be putting seasonal British-ish produce on sticks and cooking it on our charcoal grill. The food will be simple, loud and fun, perfect to be eaten with a beer in hand and friends at your side.The menu will draw on a variety of influences rather than pretending to adhere to the concept of an authentic cuisine (this is not a Japanese restaurant). With respect to traditions, we will be cooking with integrity and creativity with ingredients and flavours that we love and are passionate about, in a way that is innovative rather than traditional, and most importantly, tasty tasty delicious. Welcome to BEHIND. We are an intimate 1 Michelin star fish-focused tasting menu restaurant run by chef Andy Beynon. Situated on the edge of London Fields, Hackney, BEHIND has 18 kitchen-table seats for lunch and dinner sittings, as well as a relaxed wine bar. BEHIND is Andy Beynon’s first restaurant, opened in October 2020. After just 20 days’ trading it was awarded its first Michelin Star. Andy spent 15 years working in some of the best Michelin star restaurants in the country, including with chefs Claude Bosi, Phil Howard and Michael Wignall.

    The food was outstanding. The only minor comment I have is that the menu was in Italian and so we did not know what to order for a little while before the waitress explained it to us. Other than that everything was brilliant.

    Pleasant ambience, almost completely full for our visit but a nice buzz of conversation rather than a wall of noise. Staff were lovely and the food was all good, well presented and tasty. Not a large menu so we shared 5 dishes. Also enjoyed a wonderful spiced smoky margarita and the beer choice suited my husband, ie it wasn’t just lager.

    I had a very pleasant evening today in a wonderful place with delicious food and amazing cocktails..🍸 Everything in the new menu sounds very appetising🤤. Lots of delicious dishes with seafood... The service is excellent, the friendly staff will help you make your choice both in food and drink.🤗
