The building has been constructed around the year 1850.The main aim was to respect the history of the building. Mrs. Maria and their two sons along with the executive chef create authentic recipes from all over Greece, like grape leaves, the famous lamb "kleftiko", cheese pie with honey & Greek kebab “Sheftalia”. There are also some unique dishes which you can hardly find elsewhere, such as ravioli stuffed with beef & spices with red pepper & yoghurt-mint sauce, slow-cooked goat with pappardelle pasta, Cretan macaroni "skioufichta" and the caramelized octopus

Gloria Gati is the new restaurant of chef George Papakostas who jokingly refers to Gloria as the older sister of Vittoria Gati, another famous restaurant of his in Glyfada. Gloria is located in a historic building in the Athens center just 50 meters from Syntagma square. It is defined by an eclectic vintage design in a very cosy space where the pizza oven takes center stage. The bar serves award winning cocktails and over 100 wines from Greece and around the globe. The menu is Italian with a focus on homemade pasta and quality meats. The pizza is made from a 1937 sourdough and baked in a traditional oven imported from Naples. Some of the signature dishes include the steak tartare, arancini bolognese, the raviolo cacio pepe, the reginette al tartufo for truffle lovers as well as pollo francese and the ossobuco which is cooked for 12 hours. A tiramisu is a must here accompanied by a single estate espresso. Outside seating is available all year round in the courtyard of St George church

    Sensational dining experience. The restaurant is recommended by Michelin and it should definitely get a star. The qualities I appreciaterd the most was the authentic Greek tastes, the fresh but not exotic ingredients combined in the most inventive way. Paired with an excellent presentation we could have asked for nothing more for a romantic evening. Genuinely friendly and helpful staff, great value for money. Cannot recommend the place enough. Congrats to the chef and all the personnel. You made it!

    The people at OpenTable are lovely as is the ambience. My friend recommended this restaurant because her family toured Athens 10 or more years ago and her son still talks about the fish he ate here. I, of course, had to have that fish and know I’ll talk about it for 10+ years too! My children also enjoyed the grilled shrimp and moussaka! When you’re in Athens, Greece, don’t miss this place!

    Nice location on a corner . Very attentive wait staff . Souvlaki and Gyro ordered with the spinach salad … good food and great portions . Negroni was fabulous
