Originally built as a farmhouse for Link House Farm, one of the three farms which made up early Amble, the pub is one of the oldest buildings in the whole of the town! Records dating back as far as 1842 show that the farm was owned by a Mrs Maria Wellwood - a possible explanation for the pub's name today! Our traditional pub classics are expertly crafted from our seasonal menus and the bar is crammed with local ales and tipples to tempt any taste buds. Using the most seasonal ingredients and decadent flavours, there's a dish for every desire.     Christmas dinner 2024 - wonderful experience! Such a lovely atmosphere at this family friendly pub. The three of us all went for different options and each dish was delicious. The menu was well thought out and the ingredients high quality. Value was excellent but above all, the staff made the day extra special for us guests. If you’re looking for somewhere for a special occasion meal, look no further! We will definitely be back!
