Tucked away on Rt. 27 between Princeton and New Brunswick, Luca’s Somerset is an oasis of authentic regional Italian cuisine. Offering modern adaptations of traditional dishes from Ischia, here you can enjoy hand-cut ravioli stuffed with Chef Andrea’s latest mouth-watering combinations, a selection of fish entrees so fresh that they evoke the Mediterranean Sea, or a filet of such quality that it is paralleled only by the accoutrement that accompany it. We have been celebrating Valentine Day here for years. The food and staff are always outstanding. The chef is a genius. From the bread basket to the desert to the fancy sparkling waters this place never disappoints. The lobster dish alone is worth a trip here.

A true dining experience. I went with a friend and his grandson for his 80th birthday. It was a Monday lunch, so there were very few people there. The service was impeccable, and the food was out of this world. From the bread, to the apps, to the entree. Their dessert special for the day was a pistachio tiramisu and it was something that I will never forget. Other reviewers comment on the prices, but if you want quality, freshness and a unique experience you should be willing to pay for it.

Living in this area for 30 years and I can’t believe I missed this gem. Luca’s has all the charm of old world hospitality. Our server Matt was so charming and rattled off the specials from memory. They were so eclectic and added to the tastefully composed menu presented in a leatherette folio. All of our selections were beautifully plated on a wide array of serve ware. There was a variety of bread brought to the table and the calamari was light and spicy - the best I’ve ever had. Other appetizers- buratta, bruschetta and figs wrapped with prosciutto were amazing. Needless to say, the entrees were even better - chicken parm, the Luca and the pastas were cooked to perfection. For dessert I highly recommend the Pompeii. During the meal, the owner, Andrea, stopped by the table to have a casual conversation which was a nice touch. Luca’s is byo, however, they have wine to purchase from a local winery and I’d suggest making reservations! Luca’s will a go-to on my list.

The food is very good but really overpriced. There were a lot of entrees that I would have liked to try but they were just too expensive. All veal, fish and lamb options were in the $50-$65 range and all the pastas were high $30s. I would go here more often if it was just a little more reasonably priced.

This was an authentic and unique dining experience. The ambiance was intricate and appealing. The server we had was very friendly and professional. The dinner was varied and high quality. We felt the love and care poured into the dishes. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Thought the service was a little weird. We got the apps really quickly and then had to inquire after our entrees after over 30min wait. Also, I had to ask another server to get me some more water. No one checked on us during the 30min wait. The food itself was good: -App: Meatballs (thought the pine nuts added a nice texture but husband didn't like it as much) -App: Mussels, CLams and Shrimp (very pure tomato sauce but the drenched foccacia bread was a little weird) -Entree: Luca (best thing we got, each bite, it got bette) -Entree: Romolo (interesting but it was too much for me) -Dessert: Berry pastry with gelato (it wasn't flaky pastry at all lol)

The biggest drawback to eating at Luca's in the winter is that we were sat close to the door. Every time the door opens a blast of cold air hit me. Aside from that, the food tonight was okay. We've had better there in the past. Will try again in the future.
