Four blocks west of "The Square' tucked in the Sonoma Valley Center, Italian born chef, Gaetano Patrinostro uses a combination of the freshest local products and Italian imports to prepare authentic Italian cuisine. His pasta sauces are based on the region of origin, seafood and steaks are cooked to perfection and the desserts are not to be missed. Mamma Tanino's is an off The Square locals favorite and the at home feeling makes out of towners love this place.

Truth be told my hopes were not met. Too busy for the amount of staff. Left feeling underwhelmed by all also a bit like we were annoying for asking twice for things forgotten, butter, wine, one of two desserts ordered. Sloppy service coming over with three wine glasses held in hands not a tray. Food was pretty good but not the excellence that would forgive the experience.

Great hidden gem! This Italian restaurant is the real deal tucked away in the corner of a strip mall. Wonderful food & service!

Started with special appetizer of mozzarella, prosciutto & tomato topped crostini (A++), shared the pear, greens & Gorgonzola salad (always a favorite) then had the special 3 cheese tortelloni w/ pesto sauce entree (DELICIOUS) & the special fish of the evening, Petrale Sole w/ capers, lemon, butter & white wine. Served with amazing vegetables & potato. All SUPERB! Service is always some of the best in the valley! Thank you ♥️

I can’t say enough good things about Mama Taninos! We came for our 10 year anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. From the moment we were seated, we treated like family. Water and bread were immediately served and our order taken shortly after. The food has so much flavor and being taken care of by Kimberly, co-owner and chefs wife, really made the dinner experience so memorable. Can’t wait to come back.

Everything was amazing! Sat outside on the patio with a heater so my pup could join and it was perfect. We enjoyed splitting a bottle of the house white wine, Caesar salad, capellini pomodoro, spaghetti carbonara & of course the bread & oil! Our server was wonderful, too!

This is one of those restaurants in a strip mall that definitely is worth seeking out. The food is always fantastic and the people that run it are very cordial. They always have at least 5 additions to the menu and the food is definitely made in house. You will enjoy it!

I always enjoy going to Mama's because the food is outstanding. Gaitano cooks everything to order. Because of that the service is slow and one usually has to wait, but last night, we went at 5:30 because we were going to a play that started at 7:30, so the service was fast. The pork chop was moist and tender, and the Veal Katrina was divine.
