We enjoyed the unique flavors, but the lighting was so dark that I couldn’t fully enjoy it aesthetically. We asked them right away to turn up the lights, and they reluctantly did since we had some older members of our group. Still...after bringing home the leftovers and seeing it proper lighting, I could see how lovely some of the dishes were.
It was challenging to bring ages ranging from 12-87. Everyone, including the 12 year old, had to use a flashlight to see the menu. The knives were not very sharp or large enough for some of the dishes, so trying to cut things in the dark was also difficult. This was all even after we asked them to turn up the lights!
There were huge, messy, peel-it-yourself prawns swimming in an oily sauce, which the 12 year old ordered. We asked the chef to peel it for him, and they would not. Again, hard to do in the dark when you're 12 and never done it before. ;) They tasted good but the experience seemed catered to what the restaurant thought was cool, rather than to what the customers wanted.
