The inn is located in the 'chocolate box' village of Wiswell, near Clitheroe, in the picturesque Ribble Valley.Since our transformation and reopening in the summer of 2009, we have created a loyal clientele and a genuine home-from-home atmosphere. Flag stone floors, walls in muted heritage colours, antique rugs and furniture, period paintings and prints all unite to create a stylish and comfortable setting. Our bar has an excellent selection of traditional cask conditioned ales from award-winning independent breweries and is complemented by a superb cellar with over 250 wines from around the world.While the surroundings and welcome are inviting, the main reason to visit is, of course, our food.

Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's. We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times.     Arrived !! The bar was really busy due to private party in the upstairs area , Shown straight to our table without asking would we like drinks in the bar .. had to ask for the wine list , when the wine arrived it was put on the table , with the twist top!! Never asked if we would like to taste !! However our choice of food was delicious!! We both had lamb shank , our desserts were also fabulous .. so compliments to the chef & kitchen team The DJ although great felt like we were at an Ibiza beach club , maybe next time we should check the music ambience , last time we came Ella Shaw was singing and it was perfect for the venue .. The staff are lovely and friendly maybe just tweak the finer things of service ..
