Everything was excellent except for seating. First we were shown to seats at the sushi bar, assuming we would have a table or booth. No fault of restaurant. We were moved to a table. Very accommodating, however we asked to be moved again as we were placed in a small room and a group of 6 came in after and were so LOUD and obnoxious we could not even talk. Again they accommodated us immediately.

It had been a few years since we dined at Next Door, and we did not know what to expect. Needless-to-say our Valentine's dinner was absolutely fantastic. The service was amazing, including our waitress, Bethany who was super attentive and friendly, and the dining room manager, Sean, who was actively engaged overseeing and helping the wait staff. Even the bus girl topped off my waterglass no fewer than 5 times. The food was superb - and we especially enjoyed the featured Australian Wagyu steak, along with the grilled bronzini. The chocolate toffee lava cake was to die for, and a perfect end to our Valentine's meal. The live entertainment (guitar/vocal) really added to the atmosphere. Bravo Next Door!

The quality, taste, and presentation of the food and drink continues to be great. Server was off, seemed overwhelmed and was inattentive. He was partially saved by other staff. Like everywhere else prices are up and portion sizes are smaller- from salads to sushi to burgers every thing is smaller even the plates- This honestly impacts the value sense of having a nice meal - paying more but actually getting less just highlights the juxtaposition- when you serve noticeably smaller portions sushi better think again- what is next soup by the spoonful?! Well the cup of miso is tiny now. This seems unsustainable- unlikely to return- will miss what this place was when it opened- Newer seating and tables were improvements but largely the place is unchanged just small updates- fine.

Fantastic food and every dish was so complex and had us guessing what made up these amazing flavours. The Tenderloin skewers with truffle butter, baby gem and watercress salad with wasabi and cucumber dressing would cause a fight resulting in injuries if there wasn’t enough - both superb! We then had the grass fed rib-eye and grilled zucchini and again - superb! This is about as a good as a special 60th bday dining celebration can get. Well done!!

Ambience was cozy - loved the wood burning fireplace in the dining room on a cold, snowy night! Food and drinks were delicious - we had beef skewers, roasted shishito peppers, an assortment of nigiri, a couple of rolls, and pavlova with match ice cream for dessert. Favorites were the salmon nigiri, the scallop nigiri with truffle, and the raspberry pavlova. Service is outstanding and everything was presented beautifully, but be prepared to pay for it.

Amazing and unique dishes prepared with fresh and flavorful ingredients. Beautiful presentation! Decor is gorgeous and upscale. Sat at the sushi counter and was impressed with the teams’ skills!
