The Old Surrey Restaurant is Surrey’s best well- kept secret. Built in 1918, it was the residence of Lou Jack and his household until it was converted into a restaurant in 1974.

The interior has a crisp, clean aesthetic that is enhanced by hardwood floors and the enlarged photos of historic Surrey that adorn the walls. There are five distinct dining areas on the top floor (including a cozy library) and a banquet facility downstairs. The cuisine is French with a splash of West Coast flare. A treat for new and seasoned guests alike are the signature dishes that are prepared and flambeed tableside.

The restaurant has been family-owned and operated since 1974 and in 1984 the restaurant has entered into a partnership with the family farm in Ryder Lake overlooking Chilliwack from the nearby mountains. The Old Surrey is well known for its free-range lamb and veal allowing customers to enjoy fresh organic ingredients.

            The service was extremely slow and lacking the normal energy. A couple that came In After us were half way through their meal before we got drinks. We have been going there for over 30 years. Half is for the experience. The table side service and the interaction with the waiters. And please 45.00 for 2 ceasar salads We are talking about lettuce garlic some oils and cheese. This may not be our go to for special events in the future.

            Great experience. We all love the Caesar salad . It’s to die for. The duck was amazing, the scallops were great. We will all be back very soon.

            Everything was phenomenal! The staff was charming and made for an entertaining evening. Having the cesar salad and ice cream made at the table was so cool, and their nitro ice cream has ruined all other ice cream for me, lol. Everything smelled, looked, and tasted amazing. We went for my mom's birthday, and everyone had an amazing time. It's definitely one of the best restaurant experiences I have had and I am looking forward to the next occasion that I can use to book dinner here again! 10/10 would recommend

            Awesome dining experience. Great food! The table-side Caesar salad with fresh homemade dressing and the table-side nitrogen ice cream demonstration were memorable. Only glitch was 45-minute delay between the appetizers and the main courses, and an unexplained delay between being offered the dessert menu and actually getting to see the dessert menu. It made for a long 2.5-hour dinner.

            Very beautiful restaurant. The ambiance was very warm and charming. Our waiter was friendly and we had good service. The food was absolutely excellent.
