The newest addition to the Restaurant Collection at SIMON Roosevelt Field mall, Nomiya — which translates to ‘saloon’ — stands as the area’s first izakaya. Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of minimalism, the interior of Nomiya is split between a hickory-accented bar and windowed dining room framed by black granite walls. Guests can pair their meal with one of the eleven premium bottles of sake listed on the menu, such as the unfiltered, cream-colored Yuki Tora Snow Tiger nigori or bright, effervescent Uka Junmai Daiginjo; or opt for a refreshing cocktail made with soju – the national drink of Korea which is commonly distilled from potato.     As always over 10 visits. Food-sensational Cocktails-fantastic Service- SPECTACULAR Brought my handicapped 85 year old buddy here for second time. He loves it. Both times he was treated like GOLD by our server Despine. She is the best. We will be back!!!

    Took the family to celebrate 2 birthdays last night. 9 people in all. The restaurant could not have been more accommodating. The sushi was all very fresh and the presentations beautifully done. We started with a mix of appetizers and then large quantities of sushi and sashimi!! The special roles were very creative and enjoyable. We will definitely be back!!

    As always, every meal is delicious here. The sushi is the freshest around. I had the yellowfin tuna as a main course and my husband had the beef shanks. Both meals were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The cocktails are very reasonably priced and again, so delicious. I had the pumpkin martini and my husband had the espresso martini. This place never misses.
