Rengaya has been serving YAKINIKU in North Sydney since 1993, making it one of Australia’s pioneering Japanese barbeque restaurants. Now, that tradition is set to continue at its new digs on Miller Street – just a short stroll from the original location – in a much more modern, striking setting. The new fit-out features bar-counter seats around an open kitchen, red booth seating divided by Japanese-style timber panelling and a hard-to-miss chandelier. There’s also a 20-seat private dining room. We use only the finest ingredients such as Japanese Black Cattle made in Australia for beef, Sashimi and Seafood fresh from the sea.     We’ve dined at this local gem on several occasions and each time, the staff was attentive and the food was good. Came for my birthday on the last outing and the staff made such a lovely fuss. Food is always spot on and cooked well.

    Thank you for an amazing lunch, the service was exceptional and the food to die for. Especially the Prawns and the Toothfish (which is the first time I have ever eaten out and had it cooked perfectly). The Cauliflower Karaage was so beautiful and fresh it blew my socks off. Thank you again to all the team for a memorable dining experience.

    Really fresh sashimi and tasty sushi. There are lots of variety of meats to choose from. Our party of 3 chose the deluxe buffet. Food came relatively quickly after ordering as we were there on a weekday.
