Masuya Restaurant is located in a building, which has been designated as a cultural asset, on O’Connell Street in Sydney. This is the same place as the office of Kanematsu Gosho, the pioneer of Australia – Japan trades, was situated in 1980. Masuya Restaurant opened in 1993, then full renovation was implemented in 2006.The approx. five meters long sushi counter, designed by architect Robert Toland in ‘kabuki red’ with an idea of the stage of kabuki, has since fascinated not only local Australian customers but also various people with different backgrounds.A showcase displays more than 20 different sushi ingredients everyday including locally produced fish, which is purchased on the day. I recently had a wonderful dinner at Kokoroya, and it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was the highlight. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves authentic Japanese food. I can’t wait to return!

Awesome, the staff are fantastic and they always greet us ands remember us which is nice. The food is awesome and we keep coming back for more. This is out go-to neighborhood Japanese. Only wish the Sake was not so expensive.

This is our couple's regular date night now. Perfect and authentic Japanese food by professional and very kind Japanese chefs and staff. Drinks are also awesome and reasonably priced. Must try their chicken crackling yakitori, garlic fried rice, wagyu tartare, and uni hand roll sushi (special menu)!!!

Delicious quality Japanese food in the local Clovelly community. The staff are so friendly and efficient. We love coming back here time and time again. My two favourite dishes are miso-glazed eggplant and agedashi tofu.
