Long thought to be the building where our entries namesake was held as a prisoner before being hung in Cornmaket, The Jailhouse as it is now known has been frozen in time for the last 70 years nearly forgotten about completely. Restored as part of the Joys Entry project, the aim was to keep as much of the original character of the building as possible. Brick walls, inscribed beams and original windows, take a closer look and see what history and tales you can find while you sip on tipples and nibble on rations. Time Served Well.

Drawing Office Two, with its spectacular three-storey high barrel-vaulted ceiling, is now the vibrant heart of the hotel.Enjoy a drink at the island bar or something to eat in one of the many relaxing niches with original artwork by local artist Colin H Davidson.This breathtaking room is where many of the world’s most famous ocean liners, including RMS Titanic, were painstakingly designed. Look out for authentic interior features such as the Villeroy & Boch tiles that encircle the main bar; the same as the ones used for Titanic’s swimming pool and First Class bathrooms!The same craftsmen who worked on the great liners created the fine plasterwork in this room.

James St is the coming together of two of Belfast’s best restaurants, James Street South Restaurant and The Bar and Grill at James St. The new offering is the best of the Bar and Grill's menu with a few light touches to the fine cooking of James Street South.Classic dishes are firmly established on the menu from the crab and chilli linguine, Dundrum crab used on toast, alongside classic bistro dishes such as farmhouse terrine, fruit de mer plates available from Thursday. It was great - the only downside was the toilets were go 4 flights of stairs… not ideal for my heavily pregnant sister in law or 76 year old mother. Lovely otherwise

My wife had the Sea Bass which was the best she has had since first experiencing the fish in Rome many years ago. The skin was crisp so she was able to eat it all. I had the Fish of the Day which was a delicious piece of soft flaky cod expertly cooked and nicely presented. We finished by sharing a cheeseboard which had frozen grapes, very nice. My wife had an Irish coffee but it was more like a Latte with whisky added as it was cloudy. Still it tasted okay. We picked a £38 bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to drink with the meal. It was more than we normally spend on Restaurant wine but it did not disappoint. Service was friendly and efficient.
