Proper 21, brought to DC from the New York City restaurateurs Rob Zahn and Will Strozier that own Manhattan Proper and Proper West, opened in early October 2016. Located at 1319 F Street NW, Proper 21 is a high end sports bar serving All American classics with a gourmet twist. Proper 21 is the third location of NIEUW Group Inc. Like its predecessors, located in New York City, Proper 21 serves contemporary American cuisine. The space maintains the modern aesthetic and New York style of the Manhattan locations, which have best been described as Tom Ford meets Thomas Edison. We will not be offering our normal dinner menu on that day.Since our early days as a tea room, we’ve been a respite for locals and visitors alike, offering a haven for conversation and memorable cuisine. The tradition continues as our culinary team has curated an inventive and elevated menu through New American cuisine while paying homage to the beloved dishes that have been served at the Tabard Inn for years.     We had a great experience at Proper 21 in DC! The food was delicious, and the service was excellent… our server was attentive and made sure everything was perfect. The highlight was the dessert. We tried the churro, and it was hands down one of the best we’ve ever had. It was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly paired with creamy vanilla ice cream. If you’re in DC, Proper 21 is a must-visit for great food, excellent service, and unforgettable dessert!

    Food was good the Valentine’s Day menu was limited so I would like to try something else. Drink were strong so if you get 2 or 3 make sure you have an uber. Victor our waiter was perfect, he made sure we got exactly what we wanted and gave great drink suggestions. I’ll definitely be back and ask to be in his section

    WENT FOR MY BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY, (FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE).. IN THE BEGINNING I WAS A LITTLE SKEPTICAL BUT AFTER A VERY SHORT WHILE, IT WAS DEFINITELY A VIBE!! IM A SKINNY BIG GIRL WHO LOVES TO EAT, AND THE FOOD WAS FOODIN BABY!! PRICES WERE VERY REASONABLE, DRINKS WERE OK IF YOU LIKED FRUITY DRINKS (SO I STUCK TO SHOTS)!! LEWIS AND THYNIS ( I PRAY THATS THE CORRECT SPELLING OF THE YOUNG LADY NAME) WERE DEFINITELY DOIN THEIR BIG ONE!! GREAT PERSONALITY, VIBE, SERVICE, EVERYTHING!!! THEY DEFINITELY MADE MY BIRTHDAY WORTH IT!!!!
