The idea came from a mirror in an antiques market and a love for a more informal approach to dining, the result is a chippy in North London with old church pews bolted to the walls to be leaned on and eaten from. The focus is on fish but the menu transcends fish, mammals and vegetables, leaving no stone unturned in the never ending quest for flavour. Split between two rooms, the front the engine, the kitchen and bar shared by customers as they perch on bar stools and enjoy dinner and a show. Delicious food, great friendly staff. Outstanding value for money. We had 4 starters 3 mains 2 sides 3 desserts 3 cocktails and 3 coffees £65pp. Nice atmosphere. Clean and attentive. Will be revisiting and recommending.

Excellent omakase experience at kikuchi. The service was brilliant with attentive and knowledgeable staff. I recommend counter seating so you can watch Master Kikuchi prepare each dish with care and precision.

I went to Manzi’s with a couple of friends as a long overdue catch up. The venue is spacious and has a nautical theme to the decor. We all really liked it. The food is seafood focussed (as you might expect!) but there are some meat and vegetarian options. We had the prawn cocktail and sardine bruschetta to start which were delicious - I got food envy seeing the sardines come out so would definitely order those next time, and then we had the bouillabaisse, the steak frites and the fish of the day lemon sole as mains. All were great but the lemon sole was the favourite (I had food envy again!). For dessert we had the almond tart, cheesecake and hokey pokey - all were fine - my almond tart was good but nothing to write home about. The service was very good. The best surprise was the bill at the end - we thought for the amount of food and wine we had, it was pretty reasonable for London (this is always relative as sadly we are ‘used’ to London pricing so this was reasonable in comparison to other restaurants of the same standard). All in all we really enjoyed our visit and will be back!
