Opera Tavern is a beautiful two-storey bar and restaurant in the heart of central London’s theatre land. Located on Catherine Street we are opposite the Drury Lane Theatre, seconds from the Opera House, a stone’s throw from The Strand and a lovely walk across Waterloo Bridge from the South Bank. Established in 1987, Meson Don Felipe was the first Tapas Bar in London and we are still an independent, family-run business. You can expect great tapas and some amazing, well-priced Spanish wines, served in an authentic, relaxed atmosphere. We have an outside terrace with heaters and umbrellas but of course, we can't promise the weather!     Daisy was the most wonderful waitress and really made our evening. The food was gorgeous and the atmosphere was lovely! Really reasonable prices too and OMG treat yourself to a glass of sangria YUM!! We will make this our “go to” place in London when we visit next!

    Quirky bar. Food very good. Tables are small so dishes can’t come out at the same time which does spoil the experience a little. The main door when open blows a terrible draft into the restaurant. However overall nice experience and lovely staff

    Very kind and thoughtful staff members from the manager who find us a a table as we arrived earlier to the people who served food and noting all the details with timing and menu knowledge. Menu looked a bit different thierfor wasn't sure if we will enjoy but from the first bite of prawns to the last fingerlickiing hamon along with tasty liqueur shots on the house was no reason to not to think to return back at some point!

    The frontage doesn't do the restaurant any favours but once inside you could forget that you are in a busy city. It feels more like a cafe in rural Spain. The tapas is great and the service good. I would definitely go again and recommend it to others.
