Located on Spring Street near the Princess Theatre, we offer classic bistro fare with substance and character to perfectly complement our extensive collection of wines, old and new world, available to enjoy with your meal. We also welcome you on a walk-in basis next door at The City Wine Shop any day of the week, where you may simply pop in for a seat at the bar or grab a spot outside overlooking Parliament House. We take the best seasonal produce available, cooking simple, classic foods. Nose-to-tail offal dishes are centred within our menu, utilising every part of the animal products in our kitchen. Drawing on our own in-house butcher and farmhouse cheeses matured by our friends at Spring Street Cheese Cellar, there is always something new to try on the menu at The European and City Wine Shop.

Chefs Tom (Pitt Cue Co, London) and Adam (Homeslice, London) pay homage to the low and slow traditions of American BBQ utilising smoking, chargrill techniques and pair this with flavours from Mexico, China, France and alike. Vatutto is a family run restaurant, Owners Paul and Myrto Recinella moved from their 16 year Institution at Zios East Melbourne to the Ivanhoe location in 2015. A full renovation was completed recently creating a modern yetelegant atmosphere. Vatutto translates from Italian to ‘Everything goes’ the menu here has a diverse flavour selection from all corners of the earth. Produce here is sourced from premium suppliers, and we use sustainable seafood from Australian or New Zealand waters, Wagyu beef from Gippsland, organic eggs, fruit and vegetables, and quality imported cheese, dairy products and flour. Beautiful restaurant, gorgeous ambience. The food was interesting and delicious, but unfortunately the desserts let the menu down. Definitely worth visiting, especially on a special occasion or date night.

Dont miss out on the hot meat donut, novel but it totally works, savoury and sweet with the tartness of the capsicum hot sauces is amazing. I also had the Cinnamon Chicken which was perfection, the gravy and pickles really made it.
