The nineteenth century former oxen house is the newest addition to the family of meticulously restored farm buildings. A state-of-the-art piece of agricultural architecture at its conception, Caryn Hibbert worked meticulously to preserve the soaring archways and original Cotswold stone rubble walls, to now house a modern, dining destination - including a contemporary bar and seven and a half metre Charvet open kitchen - to allow for an authentic, heritage-rich dining experience, enabled by today’s best culinary technologies.
The Horse and Groom Inn aims to provide great food and drink in a quintessential, traditional 16th century country inn. Dining is relaxed and informal in a friendly atmosphere. We stock a wide choice of wines by the glass, cask conditioned ales, lagers and ciders. Our guests can enjoy dining in our cosy bar or restaurant areas. We welcome well-behaved dogs on leads. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times. We also have a comfortable outdoor terrace and garden area with picturesque babbling brook. We also have a small in-pub coffee shop and delicatessen! Selling the best of local produce, bread, milk and a selection of luxury food and drink items, the shop is open whenever we are. We also provide great coffees to drink in or take away. Our menu focusses on great steaks and seafood (vegetarian/ vegan always available). Theo & Sebastian who are brothers, started Smiths in the middle of a pandemic! We are seriously passionate about patties and are based in Bourton-On-The-water, also known as ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’. Our restaurant sits circa 30 guests making it a small, exclusive place to come and eat. Since opening, we have made it our mission to get our hands on the best possible ingredients. We also use dry aged beef with a great fat content supplied by Aubrey Allen, which marries up with our strong, unique flavour combinations giving you the ultimate bite! We cant forget about or delightful buns, which are handmade daily by a wonderful local baker. All the flour used for our buns is made up of Cotswold flour sourced from local farmers. We also pride ourselves on having a vibrant cocktail scene. All of our cocktails are bespoke to us and our syrups and flavourings are made in house!
