Owned and managed by husband-and-wife team, Daniel Crump MCA and Margriet Vandezande-Crump, the restaurant was crowned the 2024 AA Restaurant of the Year (England). Based in a 17th century coaching inn in the heart of Beaconsfield Old Town, it has also been voted an OpenTable Diners’ Choice, one of the most romantic restaurants in the UK, and named among the top 100 restaurants in the country by SquareMeal. The Grade II-listed venue has a variety of spaces where guests can enjoy a meal or drink.The various menus showcase a commitment to using the best seasonal British produce available, including that grown in the kitchen garden. Vegans, vegetarians and guests with dietary requirements receive an equally special dining experience. The Greyhound also has a diverse wine list, which won an AA Notable Wine List Award.     If Brits ever want to know what it's like to eat at an Ontario, Canada farm-to-table restaurant, they should come here. If you don't know, Ontario is an incredible farming province and there are numerous places like The Barn Kitchen - this cool blend of excellent food, casual but still upscale environment, modern but rustic interior and a real community space. Just fantastic food and a great, great space. I loved the associated farm store, as well.

    Have been twice now, it is a lovely welcoming pub with very nice food (and roast dinner) and wonderful helpful staff.

    Today was my mate John's birthday. I had arranged a birthday lunch for my mate John at The White Oak at Cookham. It's part of the Brucan Group. Me and my partner had eaten at their Finchampstead pub The Greyhound on several occasions so I guess I knew roughly what to expect. We started by sharing 6 oysters. Delicious. John had the grilled mackerel on squid Bolognese with samphire. Spot on. I had the steak tartare. Delightful. We both went for the braised beef shoulder on mustard mash. Cabbage seriously good. Absolutely delicious. They kindly presented John with a happy birthday plate of chocolate brownie or sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Made John smile. Thank you The White Oak for a perfect birthday lunch. Very highly recommended. Cheers...
