The Crathorne Arms is a great pub in a wonderful community spirited village, lovely people, Lord Crathorne himself couldn’t be more supportive, how lucky we are.Our life has come a full circle from a town pub in Middlesbrough (well Eugene has) to the tontine (McCoys Hotel, Restaurant and Bistro) to a village pub in Crathorne, Ten Minutes from Middlesbrough.We live above the pub, our furniture and furnishings live downstairs as they can’t and won’t fit up the stairs! So the canoe has the condiments, the bookcases our books, the huge sofa with big squashy cushions to sink into, tin lanterns reflecting patterns on the ceiling, this all makes for a homely feel and that’s what we would like to create along with good wholesome food and drink.Of Course the staff, front of house and kitchen are all great, hardworking, smiley, enthusiastic young people and a joy to work with.

It is a listed building and the oldest one still in use in the town. Our establishment is a restaurant and pub with an excellent reputation for serving traditional homemade British dishes. We take pride in sourcing produce from local businesses as much as possible and use these ingredients to create the best dishes for our patrons. Our signature dishes include Haddock in our special beer batter with hand-cut chips and the local speciality, the chicken parmesan. We believe in keeping things simple and making them well. Form the moment we were met at the food we were impressed; lovely warm welcome, very attentive staff and great setting. Food was really tasty - red cabbage and cauliflower cheese really made my “Sunday dinner” perfect. Desserts were amazing, especially the crème brûlée. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and will defo be back.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was really nice The atmosphere is relaxed Service was seamless Table was reserved and ready for our arrival Food menu was clear and easy to navigate There was plenty of food on the plate and then vegetables and extra Yorkshire puddings and gravy stuffed! Not even room for dessert although they had varied choices

Friendly greeting on arrival and given a choice of tables that was appreciated. All staff pleasant at bar and serving food. Food was of good quality, portions sufficient and served without waiting very long. A good place to meet for lunchtime treat.
