Portland opened in 2015 and received a Michelin star the same year - which we have retained to this day. We try to offer the best contemporary example of fine dining in London – the finest produce we can find cooked with precision and a high level of technique led by our executive chef Stuart Andrew and head chef Chris Bassett and his team.

We offer a la carte and also a Tasting Menu at lunch and dinner.

Wine is as important as food and service at Portland. Our main wine list aims to offer brilliant value on interesting, different wines which we hope you seldom see on restaurant wine lists. Our Single Bottle List contains bins of some of the world’s finest wines and also more accessible offerings from our favourite producers.

Apart from the main restaurant, we hope that our private room and its offer of secluded and separate dining is just the thing for special family events or business meetings.

A great start to 2025 with a visit to Portland Restaurant. Some great new additions to the menu across all courses. The baked cheesecake is the best cheesecake I ever tasted - anywhere. If for no other reason, you have got to visit just for this.

Portland is perfect. Service: Gabor was excellent, thoughtful and entertaining - thank you. It made our experience Food: The lunch menu was delicious. Full of flavour, textures and variety. Every dish was wonderful but the dish that actually blew me away was the complimentary tomato consommé to welcome us. Ambience: Beautiful open kitchen, calm, elegant, a popular place Overall: a must try. I would absolutely return to try other things on the menu, and so others can experience this wonderful place.

The food is top notch, one of the very best places in London, with a great wine list. Service is effortlessly good. The space is simply decorated and arranged but it works well. The noise level was a bit too much for 60+ ears half way through the evening although staff said lunch is quieter so I may take them up on that. In any event a place worth visiting again!

Can’t fault this. Food was outstanding - fresh, unfussy, delicious. Friendly service and a lovely buzzy atmosphere. Great wine list. Perfect spot for lunch on a stormy day
