Conveniently located on I49 North, just 2 miles north of I-10 in Lafayette, LA awaits Big Al, our 14-foot stuffed gator to welcome you to our warm, friendly, and casual atmosphere. Mouth watering Char-Grilled Oysters served up with a bowl of one of our Signature Gumbos or maybe a perfectly cooked juicy Steak are just some of our menu offerings that are sure to delight.

After 40 years of ownership under the Guilbeau Family, Prejean’s started a new chapter in November 2020! New owners Tim Metcalf, Greg Metcalf, & Ken Boudreaux bring a combined 75+ years of restaurant experience & a new attitude to the iconic Prejean’s Restaurant.

Service and food was excellent. Has been awhile since I have been to Prejean’s and the reason was because the food quality had declined. This has been rectified by 100% and is top notch again. Service was excellent and very pleasant and attentive. Was a little disappointed because for a Saturday night there was not a live band to drown out the loud taking tables. All together it was a great night out

I thought I would enjoy this restaurant but the music was entirely too loud it was good music just too loud and the value of the food was not what I expected my friends recommended it and I took them with me and they were disappointed they said it used to be a experience the waiter was very good so maybe turn the volume down on the band and offer a better selection on your menu

The staff were fantastic, from the reception to the wait staff. The menu was interesting and varied, with something for everyone among the local delicacies. We really enjoyed the live music which played throughout our visit.

While the food was good and server was ok too but the hostess and Restuarant’s table placement approach was terrible. We made the reservation several days ahead but they gave us a dingy table in the back of the Restuarant with barely any lighting when other tables were visibly available. I also talked to the hostess and she said she couldn’t help us. There are other reviews about this place with similar issues but it looks like the Restuarant doesn’t care or want to listen to its customers. I will not recommend this Restuarant.
