Welcome to the Puddicombe House, award winning casual fine dining in an elegantly restored 1868 mansion in downtown New Hamburg. Executive Chef Jammie Monk leads the culinary team. The restaurant has been named to the Open Table Top 100 Restaurants to Dine Outdoors in Canada and the top 100 Romantic Restaurant in Canada. We came to Puddicombe House for a girls weekend. Our room was wonderful. The restaurant however was another story. Food was very delicious but the service was dismal. Water glasses stood empty... Even after 3 requests for a refill. Servers barely cared for us. We hardly saw them. All very young servers who seemed to want to be elsewhere. The short ribs were absolutely delicious. Very creative dish everything was quite tasty. Unfortunately the servers left me sitting staring at my dish before they finally brought me cutlery so I could eat it. Ironically at breakfast time we were served by I'm guessing the owners. Very lovely people, great service. However our waffle was rock hard and burned. the fruit surrounding the waffle was fresh and delicious. We were just expecting more of a light fluffy waffle, disappointed it was burned and very crunchy.

We had a fantastic meal. Fortunately we were a part of eight and were able to eat in one of PH's heated, cozy gazebos. Excellent food and excellent service!

we sat in heated outdoor (glassed in) veranda. Will come back to try all four seasons . Indoor , outdoor, and gazebos. Puddicombe house is a hidden gem!

Fantastic meal in one of the gazebos this aft. Couldn't ask for a prettier, more cozy setting and the food was exceptional. I had a pear and ricotta purse pasta with other goodies like feta, roasted brussel sprouts and candied walnuts. Others had short rib bolognese and curry bowls. Everyone raved about their meals. The service was also attentive without being intrusive. Honestly the best dining experience I've had in months.

Our server Maddie was a sweet, fun, and authentic girl. She was quick to get our bill when we had to leave (for a play), and have a take out cup brought over, for a tea that was ordered. The pear salad was exceptionally salty, I didn't eat any after my first bite. I found the sauce on the chicken fried sandwich to be overly saturated, so i pulled off the breading. The fries were largely brown, overdone or oil issue, not sure?? The sangria just tasted like juice, i didn't taste any wine really, i think there was 1 slice of an orange....Unfortunately the meal and drink was subpar for me. The glass around the porch is amazing for outdoor dining at this time of year now, we were quite comfortable.
