Nestled in the Distillery Historic District, Pure Spirits Oyster House and Grill invites you to experience the charm of Victorian-era industrial architecture, both indoors and on our delightful patio. Known as the best seafood restaurant in Toronto, we take pride in serving fresh oysters from Canada’s east and west coasts, along with unique specialties from around the globe. Grab a seat at the Oyster Bar where you can mingle with a Chef shucking your oysters to order and teaching you about the amazing flavours and how to best match it to our selection of local beers.

    Our family loves every visit to Pure Spirits. They are always so welcoming, even when we show up with an ever increasing number of little ones. We never have a complaint and although we enjoy every aspect of our time there, the lovely staff from the receptionist to the chef are especially terrific!

    We ordered the calamari and had to send it back, absolutely no flavour and seemed undercooked. When we sent it back, we got no apology or any sort of acknowledgment. We ordered the fish tacos and the fish was pretty dry and we also gave the clam chowder a shot and it only has 3 claims? The flavour was delicious but you can’t seriously call it clam chowder if there is 3 tiny clams… pretty disappointing to be honest. We decided to skip dessert and went elsewhere.

    The shrimp cocktail and shrimp pappardelle were absolutely delicious, the margarita was yummy, and our server was fabulous. I'll definitely go again!

    The freshly shucked oysters were delicious. The guide on the menu allowed us to enjoy each one, on its own. There is more than malprque from the East cost and fanny bay from the west. This is a must try! My sea bream came beautifully cooked. Although the tomato chunks could have been chopped a little smaller? My boss’ fish and chips were on point and my colleague’s fish tacos were well presented. The bourbon oyster shot came with a rather spicy malpeque. But it was satisfying!

    Food was great. We were there for quite a while. Reservation was at 5:30 we didn’t leave till about 8. Which is fine, it just seemed like a long time. Aside from that it was really good. Great food!
