Excellent food, and the service is stellar. The noise level was moderate. Great experience in dining on the west side of the lake.

Overall a great experience. Just a few little tweaks on the food is why I rated it with 4 stars. The blue cheese dressing on the BLT wedge was strange and watery tasting and not much flavor unless you got a chunk of blue cheese. We ordered a ribeye steak with horseradish and Parmesan crust and while the steak was melt in your mouth perfection, we couldn’t taste the horseradish at all. The scallops were scrumptious as were the fingerling potatoes. Portions were large (we brought half of each dish home). Service was impressive!

An early Valentines Dinner at a new restaurant. The wait was worth it as I made the reservation back in early January. We will be back.,

My wife and I celebrated her birthday at 16 Prime in Denver, NC, last night (Feb 4th). We had not eaten her previously; they have not been open more than about one month. The layout is open but the noise level is very low....very nice. You can talk to your partner and it was wonderful to have good conversations over great food and beverage. We had drinks before dinner and then opted for a red wine with dinner. Our server, Bobby, is very knowledgeable about the wine's available. We gave our thoughts and he recommended a wonderful Argentine Malbec called Umberto. A very good bottle of wine! For starters, we had the filet sliders. They are also, very good but were a bit heavy for the appetizer that we needed last night. Next time, we'll try one of the seafood appetizers....something a bit lighter. We followed with a chopped salad. This is a BIG salad and its worth splitting, and absolutely worth ordering. So many good flavors, including the dressing. For dinner, I had the pork chop with au poivre sauce and my wife had the filet with blue cheese on top. We ordered a side of jalapeno creamed corn. Everything was perfectly cooked, tasted wonderful, and was well-presented. For dessert, we had a locally sourced dish of ice cream (did you know that there is a creamery near Lincolnton?!) We had the bourbon-laced ice cream and it was light, perfect following our meal. We also took home a slice of their coconut cream cake. The dessert menu is worth trying, even if you have to take it home with you! We highly recommend visiting 16 Prime in Denver, NC. for a fine dining experience.
