She’s very professional. stone crab claws tempura lobster chargrilled oysters 6oz beef filet shrimp and grits crabcake

Traditionally, we love to celebrate with a nice dinner at our favorite restaurant, but as luck would have it, most of the places we frequent were closed on Mondays. After some searching, I stumbled upon a cozy spot called 1817. It wasn't familiar to us, but with a few glowing reviews and enticing photos, we decided to give it a try. As we walked through the door, I was immediately taken by the warm, inviting atmosphere. Soft lighting, tastefully decorated walls, and the gentle hum of conversation created an intimate setting. My wife smiled, clearly intrigued, and I felt a wave of relief wash over me that I had chosen the right place. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who led us to a beautifully set table near a window. The menu boasted a variety of dishes, each sounding more delicious than the last. After a bit of deliberation, we ordered a mix of appetizers and entrees, eager to experience everything this hidden gem had to offer. When the food arrived, it was nothing short of spectacular. Each plate was a work of art, bursting with flavors that danced on our tongues. My wife raved about the lamb chops she had ordered, and I couldn’t get enough of the rich, savory stuffed flounder. We shared bites, savoring not just the food but the moment itself—celebrating our love and the joy of sharing a great meal together. The service was impeccable, our server attentive without being intrusive. They had the perfect balance of professionalism and warmth, making us feel truly cared for throughout the evening. It felt like a celebration not just of our anniversary but of the simple pleasures in life. As the night wrapped up, we couldn’t resist dessert. I opted for the maple pecan bread pudding, warm and decadent, topped with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. While mango crème brulee both were amazing what a finale to a lovely evening.

                                                              My husband and I recently dined at the lovely 1817 on our anniversary 12/4. We had a wonderful evening, and received stellar service and even better food. It was a rainy evening and as soon as we pulled up, we were greeted by Olga with an umbrella. She was a darling and waited on us that night. We ordered the lobster pirogues's, oysters Rockefeller, he had a filet mignon, I had the crab cake and we shared the corn maque choux, and brussel sprouts. We finished off our meal with "The Pride" dessert. It was worth every calorie! The bartender was on point, and made the best dirty martinis. If you haven't been to 1817 yet, be sure to make your way there! We'll be back soon.

                                                              The salmon on the Caesar salad was cooked to perfection. We ordered spinach on the side and we love shallots but not the way they were with the sautéed spinach. Crab and corn bisque was decadent!!

                                                              The setting was lovely by the lake and sunset views. A great new place that was much needed for Galveston. Classy and good service. The filet was great but overall a bit pricey for the location.
