I have been there multiple times and this meal was subpar. Service super slow and meal poorly paced. Our entrees were under cooked. The bread pudding was frozen. For the cost, should be perfect every time. Never going back.

I ordered Veal as my main entree and my wife had Halibut as her main entree. My veal is so tasteless so does the vegetable. I can even finish my food after two bites. My wife’s halibut is so fishy that she can’t finish even half of the portion. It’s too pricy for this kind of food quality at the $145 four-course fixed price. I definitely don’t recommend it at all.

Went for Christmas dinner which was prix fixe. Food was interesting and generally good but Sun be dishes were mediocre or just didn’t make sense. Granted it was almost a full house. Service was ok but not what you would expect for a starred chef. Had to ask to get cocktail glasses cleared after more than one course. Wine glass sitting empty with multiple servers glancing by. Poured still into sparkling water even though they have a system for figuring that out. Completely forgot to bring the dessert wine with dessert. You’ll have a fancy meal but don’t expect service to match.

The food was as good and interesting as it usually is at 1919. It was Christmas day, so the place was booked solid, but still the noise level was surprisingly high even for a full house. The staff is always friendly, pleasant and attentive, however, what is going on in the kitchen? Do they not have enough equipment or personnel? From the time we ordered, until the time we got halfway through the meal, took two hours. There is every possibility that in order to finish the rest of the courses, we might have been there another hour or two. It was just too long to sit there waiting for the food to come so we left after two hours, and took the remaining courses to go. I don’t know how they could whip up the food so quickly “to go” but not be able to serve it reasonably promptly when you’re sitting at the table. And this time we did not do the wine pairing, but the bill still came to $500 per person. while we love the restaurant, I am having a hard time imagining spending $500 per person (without a wine pairing) in the future.

Spectacular service. Everyone was amazing. The food was top-notch. It was a little bit cold in there, so bring a shawl. Such an amazing experience.

The space is beautiful, and the service was impeccable. We went to a pre-fixe Christmas eve dinner, so selections were limited. Will definitely be back to try the normal menu.
