Enjoy the breathtaking waterfront views, sparkling starry night skies, and refreshing breezes of our outdoor balcony, or opt for indoor air-conditioned seating to beat the heat (which can be a must in North Queensland!).

Our restaurant's name, A Touch of Salt, is a play on our family name, Brine. In 2005, we started as a family business, and our family-style approach of offering genuine hospitality and meals designed for conversation has always been the heart of A Touch of Salt. Over the years, we have perfected our restaurant to become one of the best casual fine-dining restaurants in the North.

We take pride in being appreciated by the locals of Townsville as well as travellers from all over Australia.

Amazing from the moment you walk in the service is excellent. The food is exquisite time and time again. Hands down the best restaurant in Townsville would recommend to everyone.

We have been to Touch of salt many times over the years and the meals have always been excellent. Last nights meal was 10/10

Starters were great, vegetable substitutions on the duck main course without any notification...the menu certainly did not include green beans and either kale/cavolo nero! The zhoug sauce that was the second ingredient (I was expecting it to be quite substantial because of that) on the wagyu steak main listing was barely there, about half a teaspoon dropped on to the accompanying hummus...I was looking forward to the spiciness of that but it was basically missing... The "crispy potatoes" just weren't crispy by the time the plate reached the table. Service seems to have dropped in the past couple of years unfortunately. One shouldn't and never used to have to ask for water or put up with a waitperson that leans across in front of you to serve...

Dining at a touch of Salt is always such an experience, the "wow"that come out of our mouths, with each fork full. Pleasing to both eyes and palate. We always look forward to the new seasonal menu. Always a delight.

We had our work Christmas party at A Touch Of Salt, and it was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious, with excellent options for those who are celiac. The service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was the perfect balance between warmth and professionalism. Highly recommend!

We had a disappointing visit to a touch of salt. At the beginning of the evening- service was great. Entree and starter came out with promptness and wine service was also prompt. Downhill from there. I had to ask for another round of drinks and then we waited probably at least an hour for our main course. In the end we had to ask whether it had been forgotten. As we live on Magnetic Island, we had a time schedule with a ferry to catch, so our main was hastily eaten with no time for dessert or another drink. Food was nice, but my main could’ve been a bit warmer…… with a $200 spend I was expecting better than this.

As always amazing food, it just can’t be beaten. We did have to ask for the desert menu after sitting with empty plates for quite a while, but otherwise service was OK. The desserts were so good that we almost ordered an extra one. It’s difficult to find somewhere with such high standards, my favourite place in Townsville.
