Served in the decadent Garden Room, our Festive Afternoon Tea includes, Classic Cut Sandwiches, savoury delights, scones and sweet treats which include: The Fluffy One: Christmas pudding choux, dark choux pastry filled with dried fruits and Christmas spiced chiboust. The Rich One: Mini chocolate orange cheesecake The Fruity One: Mince pie frangipane, brandy butter frosting The Cherry On Top: Black forest layer cake, chocolate sponge, cherry mousse, chocolate glaze, amarena cherry If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know in advance. York once known as ‘The Chocolate City’ dating back almost 300 years, at its peak, over 14,000 people were employed in the city’s famous chocolate factories - including Rowntree’s site at Haxby Road, which opened in 1890, and was so big it had its own fire brigade, and Terry’s Chocolate Works factory near York Racecourse, which opened in 1926. Inspired by history, our Executive Chef has created and developed a truly magical indulgence of mouth-watering flavours using some well-known classic inspiration from the nation’s favourite chocolates.
