We had a fantastic NYE dinner with phenomenal service from Fahad. The food was delicious, with a great balance of flavors. Will definitely be back!

The food was outstanding! So glad they opened up in DC. I am a big fan of their sister restaurant in Philly. I have to say, the DC restaurant’s food was better! Don’t get me wrong, they are both fantastic, but DC’s was awesome. They had a mushroom appetizer that was so crispy and flavorful. The chickpea small plate is incredible!! Highly recommend it. Also, the chicken entree was so juicy and delicious. I’ll be going back many more times.

The menu offered a nice selection of vegetarian and meat options. While every dish we had was delicious and creative, the standout dish was the stuffed delicata squash. A special shoutout must go out to the buttermilk biscuits with herbed butter. We appreciated the attentive and friendly service and the cool vibe of the dining room. This has been the dining highlight of our trip to DC!

Five stars for A. Bar and Kitchen. The food was delicious - my favorites were the duck and the oyster mushrooms. The service is lovely. One can hear themselves think. Not too loud but a very cool vibe. So wonderful to finally have a good restaurant not too far from the Kennedy Center! I also can’t wait to try it in nicer weather - they have a very cool space out back with a fire pit and a little garden.

I ordered the chicken. Was very tasty. The breast was perfect but the thigh was way too squishy and pink for my taste and I couldn't eat it. Maybe that's a personal thing, but the idea of undercooked chicken just makes me hesitant. Excellent service. Unusual location, as this place is in the basement of an apartment bldg, and there's no sign.

Several dishes were salty - biscuits and steak. The French pastry dish was described as a croissant, but the texture wasn’t soft and buttery - it was actually hard. Great service and knowledgable staff, but the food could be improved.

Excellent brunch. Great wait staff. Very knowledgeable about the menu. Everything about the meal was terrific. Highly recommend this new addition to Washington's restaurant scene.
