   Hostess was great and welcoming. The service was to be desired, the bartender shouldn’t be waiting on table. The manager just walking around and looking around with not doing much but that. Beautiful place and great food otherwise.

   Chicken was great as was the red pepper hummus. Restaurant was way too loud! Seating was tight; table was small. Very expensive dinner. Wait service was disgruntled. Parking is near to impossible.

   Food was great. Server was great. May be my fault but I was not aware of the 20% surcharge. In addition you have to give, well you don’t have to, but I did give tips for the servers. Apparently the 20% surcharge only gives les than 4% of that to the servers. This is u fair to the servers. Im not dinning again in the city beat go Arlington’s or Alexandria.

   Alara is stunning the moment you enter. My qualms were how closely together all the tables were placed - the server couldn’t even pass between tables without knocking my bag off my chair every time. Perhaps the experience would feel more elevated if it wasn’t so cramped together. The food was nice: I tried the spicy labneh, the cauliflower, and the halloumi. The baklava was definitely a bit too sweet.

   Bad food and bad service. Way too loud at 7pm. Would not go back!

   They are still new, and clearly popular for a drink. The food was fine, but not impressive. Service wise—they have a long way to go. The noise level makes it hard to hear anything, and although our server was attentive, they did a poor job of describing menu items when asked. They also didn’t offer water when we sat, and one of the plates on the table was dirty enough that we had to send it back.

   The atmosphere and the food was outstanding. They were fully booked but still accommodated us to change our reservation to 7:30 pm. The food and the service was good too. Manager Moe and our server Selin were exceptional, I would go back.

   Too crowded with tacky people. I am craving for fun ambiance and good food, but that’s not the place.

    Bring ear plugs. Would have given a 5 stars rating if the noise level was much lower. The acoustics in the restaurant need to be addressed. The house was packed and the noise level incredibly high that my Apple Watch was displaying high noise level warnings. We had to literally yell to one another across the table to be heard as were everyone else in the restaurant. However, the food was well prepared and presented. The service was efficient. The value was great.
