   We come here nearly every weekend and most times have a pleasant breakfast with prompt service and good food. This Sunday was an exception! We booked a table for 9.45, arrived at 9.40 and where we were sat the door wouldn't close and it was cold, so we moved to the next table along. We were sat there for over 40 minutes before anyone took our order, yet people arriving after us were served and had finished before we had even placed our order! When they took my Husband's order of a toasted Bacon Sandwich, with well done Bacon, the server came back and said they couldn't do that because it deviated from the menu (he has ordered this before with no issues). However, this is where it becomes unbelievable - they could do a portion of toast with a side of well done Bacon!!?? So he ordered this instead (basically a deconstructed toasted Bacon sandwich). The toast arrived on it's own and the Bacon was on my Poached Eggs and Sourdough and looked like it had only touched the pan. It got sent back along with my "Extra Hot" cappuccino that was luke warm. The sandwich arrived again but not much better and my Coffee again was just warm. My Husband declined the sandwich as we had now been sat there for over an hour, but when I went to pay they hadn't removed it from the bill and when we explained to the server, there was a huge drawn out excuse about seating and not being able to move tables, etc., none of this was even relevant, let alone discussed with us at the time when we moved table. We have been long standing customers at Alderford, we have been going for many years but this left a bitter taste in our mouths and will leave us wondering if we should find somewhere a bit more accommodating and helpful as the servers we had seemed to be kind behind gritted teeth! Not helpful at all. Acknowledging you were very busy that day, but service and quality should NEVER be compromised.

   Same as before. Don’t like dogs in the cafe. Dogs off leads again round the lake. And spent 100 pound in the cafe to then have to pay to go round the lake and had to leave so we did t have to pay for parking. The car park isnt being maintained and tv disabled parking is in the worse location on uneven ground that slopes. Totally understand that you are a business and we don’t have to come to site. But we love to. But in future it will be a coffee or parking fees. Which is a shame. Thank you thought the food was great as always and service great.

   Only one thing didn’t like the fact that there were dogs at the table next to us while inside eating. I have some allergies to dogs. Although I do love them. Would rather they were at the outside tables. Also noticed that the dogs that were on site were off leads and running freely. Thank you Everything else was perfect

   Very busy as it was a bank holiday. Table was ready and service quick. They did get our side order wrong but on the scale of things it was minor mistake and not worth complaining about. Plus it was a lovely meal. My only little negative was the door leading into the marquee kept being left open, (by customers and staff) it was a cold windy day and we were opposite it. We did keep closing it but maybe a door closer could be fitted. Overall though a lovely afternoon.

   We asked for egg and bacon sandwiches bread not baps. Baps came so they went back and egg and bacon We then asked for a scone with butter didn’t want Jam and cream but the latter came so we accepted it. Waitress had wrote it down correctly it was kitchen staff had not took any notice of it. Could not fault the food.

   We come to Alderford a lot and will continue to do so. But it just felt a bit chaotic today for some reason. Both lots of drinks orders we had half the order missing and had to ask for them. Baked beans were missing off both vegan breakfasts, mushrooms were on one breakfast even though the person ordering had specifically asked for no mushrooms. Maybe there were a lot of new staff, the staff were all lovely and we had a good time. Just took the edge of the experience today.
