Aleksandar is the newest addition to the acclaimed Rittenhouse Square restaurant scene. We are inspired by seasonal ingredients, chef-driven techniques, and the traditions and flavors of ancestral and modern Europe.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, large-scale original artwork, and cozy wood finishes, we at Aleksandar strive to marry Old World authenticity and modern culinary flare. Had a table next to the restroom and a door that let in cold air. Made the experience less than perfect.

I went to Aleksandar during Restaurant Week and had their three-course dinner menu. Everything was amazing—not only flavorful but also beautifully presented. Even my drink was a delightful surprise! I had their Aviation cocktail, and for dinner, I chose the beef tartare, the spring gnocchi, and the crème brûlée cheesecake. I will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

I came for restaurant week, because it's a good way to try out new places. Their take on schnitzel is one of the coolest things I've had in a while. The beef tartare was also really interesting and not like any I've had before. I was under the weather so they let me take the dessert to go, which was nice. The ambience in there is also lovely. This place is like a 10 minute walk from me so I'll be back.

We went here for a restaurant week lunch which meant that we got a good value for our meal. We also went late in the afternoon so the restaurant wasn't crowded and we were able to talk. The decor and seating arrangements are very nice. All things considered this was a very nice experience. The chicken schnitzel was much better than I expected. My wife had the smoked salmon. The salmon does most of the work with this dish but the home fries were different and very good. The cheesecake dessert was the creamy, less like cake, type and very good. Looking at the dinner menu I noticed they had stuffed cabbage (golumpki or sarma) for $36 which seems outrageous for standard Polish comfort food. Having said that it would be nice if they had more Eastern European dishes such as the Serbian cevapi or grilled meats. This is a cuisine which is lacking in Philly at least at the gourmet end and there are many excellent dishes crying out for attention from a good chef. From my brief contact the chef at Aleksander fits the bill.

Restaurant week so value was exceptional. Food was very good with exception to desert, chocolate cake, which could be done better. Wait was about 30 minutes after order but it was worth it. I would stop again.

Enjoyed the Restaurant Week Lunch, before a show at the symphony. Potato Gnocchi was awesome, and the One Sip at a Time cocktail was delicious. 10 out of 10!
