Located in the heart of downtown State College, our newly restored space offers an honest, no-fuss menu featuring modern American cooking. The bar program features classics-inspired craft cocktails and a thoughtfully curated biodynamic wine list including plentiful wines by the glass.

Located on the second floor of Hotel State College, an iconic corner of hospitality in the community, the Grill has offered the community and alumni one of the grandest views of town and Penn State through floor-to-ceiling windows for more than 40 years. Thoughtfully restored and reimagined by new owners, Chef Karen Nicolas and the team set out to re-establish the Allen Street Grill as the epicenter of the downtown dining scene with a focus on local, quality ingredients and great hospitality.

Discovering each of the major growing regions across the county, we will dive deep into the history, farming methods and traditions that each region hold. A collection of sparkling, rose, red and white will be pour including some very interesting vintage options. It was Valentine’s Day and the waiter asked us order everything together, which I typically will not do. I was fine with this but the food took a really long time anyway, but it was staggered. I have to give it past your Valentine’s Day great location, clean nice restaurant. Good food.

Dinner was excellent as always. Chad is an excellent server. We really enjoyed our pre-Valentines Day dinner out! As well as our pre-dinner drink at the lobby bar. Thank you!!

Food was delicious…especially the butterscotch mousse dessert!! Only negative, I wish it was a bigger menu with a few extra choices, especially appetizers.

22nd birthday dinner with my parents! Dinner was amazing and so was the dessert. Wait staff is amazing here.

We enjoyed our Starters. I had the Steak Tartare. Cindy had the Burrata Cheese. I loved my Duck Breast entree. Cindy also shared some of her Fisherman's Risotto, which I thought was excellent. Great food, service, and experience.

My son & I dine at Allen Street Grill each time I come up to PSU to visit him. It’s our favorite restaurant around town. As always, everything was outstanding. The food, the ambiance, our server, Kip, was engaging, knowledgeable & very attentive. We had a fantastic time & look forward to returning soon! Thank you!

There is no better restaurant in the State College area by far! It is very rare to find the combination of excellent food that is delicious and healthy, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious!!! The chef, Alex, is a true star amongst chefs and anyone is lucky to eat his food. Server Rachel is as lovely and hard working as you could wish for. She made sure we had everything we needed without crowding us and truly made our dining experience a night to remember! Book in advance and enjoy a perfect night out that your mouth and heart will remember!!!!! We love you Allen St. Grill!

We had an amazing dinner. The Linguine was delicious and the Salted Caramel mousse was out of this world. Thank you, Becky, Ryan, and everyone else for a great evening. ❤️❤️
