Allen's is reminiscent of a New York City saloon from ages past. The tin ceiling, the wood floors and the cozy old bar make it an experience in itself. Yet Allen's also has a fabulous menu that is sure to inspire and delight.

With more than 300 kinds of whisky, more than 100 wines and over 140 beers, it will satisfy your need for liquid refreshment. The food is pub fare improved thanks to the reliance on organic and locally raised meats and careful preparation. Burgers, salads, soups and so much more await those who pay a visit to Allen's.

    Lunch is always amazing at Allen's. It was a cold day so the parsnip soup was delicious and soothing. The service was great, per usual. I'll be back soon.

    Great service, not too loud, excellent ambiance and good menu choices and tasty food. No TV's is a huge bonus. Value and comfort in warm surroundings, a neighbourhood favourite.

    Food was good. Our family had butter chicken, burger, halibut & chips, kale chickpea salad. Salad was great, butter chicken very good, burger good, halibut & chips—I found the batter to be dark and overcooked with fries undercooked not crispy with no side slaw. Will not get this again. Nice ambiance.

    Allen's is one of our favourite restaurants for dinner with friends. The service is good and the burgers are the best in the city! They grind their own beef, so it's nice to be able to order rare or medium. I love the caesar salad, too, and their "house" Cabernet Sauvignon is also nice, although they have a good wine list.

    Food = excellent Portion size = normal not gargantuan which is good Noise level and table arrangement = not great. I.e. the management have tried to cram in as many tables as possible in the back section which makes for cramped and noisy dining Service = good, although does always feel slightly rushed Heat = off the charts. Come on Allen's - sort out the hearing and cooling please
