Chef Curiel makes his solo restaurant debut with Alma Fonda Fina, a restaurant dedicated to sharing the integrity, tradition and culturally rich experiences that defined his culinary journey and create a transportive dining experience that embodies the beauty of Mexico. Chef Johnny has teamed up with Chef Gustavo and Chef Jose of Oro by Nixta out of Minneapolis to create a very special 7-course dinner with a focus on Corn and the Nixtamalization process.

We sat at the counter and really enjoyed chatting with the chef throughout our meal. It felt like we were hanging out at his house, eating at the kitchen island while he cooked. The chef recommended the camote asado, callo de hacha al horno, enmoladas de pollo, and the taco de suadero. Our favorite bites were the enmoladas de pollo and the taco de suadero. The tortillas and sauces are so good! We also had the birria de borrego which was really good but not quite worth the price compared to the other dishes we enjoyed.

Simply wonderful food and service. Local neighborhood environment w/ extremely high end and interesting cuisine and preparation. Younger foodie vibe, but as 60 year olds we felt right at home. Special experience and a great find.

If you have a chance to get a reservation here - do it. Everything is amazing. The whole experience from walking in the door to the end is absolutely amazing. There was not a bad thing to eat, you will love it all and if you don’t then I’m sorry.

Our foodie group of four had a fantastic experience. I had booked an early reservation on New Year's Eve and when we arrived ten minutes early we were immediately seated. Our server, Becca, was attentive and up for the challenge of bringing us cocktails and menu items without us having to make any selections/decisions. It made the night fun and surprising and we were able to experience almost the entire menu. Everyone had favorite dishes of course, however none of us tasted anything that we didn't like. Not a single disappointing dish in the bunch, as I would expect from a restaurant with a Michelin star. I am not usually partial to seafood, yet the scallops and sea bass dishes that we were served were astonishing. Our group truly wishes we could dine again on a monthly basis! My only criticisms are minor at best. We were seated by the entrance and I often was exposed to cold air with people coming and going. The music was a bit loud, but we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and could carry on a conversation.

Wow, scallops, tacos, mushrooms and sweet potatoes all prepared with amazing taste! I was blown away by the creativity of the dishes but more importantly each dish left you wanting more, can’t wait to go back!

Incredible flavor and creative dishes. They change the menu every couple months and I’ve been very impressed each time. Our server was so lovely and walked us through each dish- we ordered a 2nd of the scallops because the flavor was unreal. The ambiance is casual and relaxed which makes you feel like you’re eating in someone’s home vs. stuffy and pretentious. Highly recommend.

One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in years! We let our server choose our dishes, and it was the right move. The hamachi was my favorite, and the sweet potato with whipped fennel ricotta was 10/10!! Ambiance was perfect, service was superb. Will be back!
