I don’t get it… this is the 2nd Italian restaurant in San Diego where I have ordered Linguine alle Vongole and was disappointed. My husband makes it better!!! However the Tortillini dish was superb!

The tomato sauce was very bland. I tried a calzone once. It was huge but also bland tasting. My husband’s bolognese sauce was flavorful. The staff had a tendency to hover over you while you choose your tip

This was not our first time to Amalfi; and they did not disappoint. We arrived early, but no problem, we had a table in 2 minutes. The service was great, only o e thing- had to ask twice for hot water with lemon for my Beloved wife - other than that, perfect. The food was well prepared and came at an appropriate pace. Thank you so much for an enjoyable birthday dinner.

-the "special" carbonara was not great. it was watered down creamy (no cream in carbonara!) and bland ...and it was a small portion. they charged $28! -the pepperoni pizza was ok. -the cacio e peppe was also watery and bland. -we used a gift certificate. the waiter looked at us like he didn't believe what we had. and he inspected it while literally physically hovering over our table and over me. -the food came out so fast we had barely gotten comfortable in our seats. -the busboys tried TWICE to take away my plate--and i was not done yet. -their overhead lighting is horrible. harsh. so bright. making things worse, the table tops are metal so the horrible light reflects.

Food was mediocre... Carbonara pasta tasted nothing like it should. Boyfriend enjoyed the branzino.

We really enjoyed our Cakebread wine dinner. The food and wine were excellent! The ambience was just ok however. We were all seated in the regular dining room and the music was so loud and it was very hard to hear the rep talk about the wines. They did finally get him a microphone. We’ve been to a number of other wine dinners at different restaurants and they have all been held in a private area. Also, we had to ask for more water several times as the wait staff was very busy. All in all in was a fun evening and we enjoyed our food and the wine pairing.

Our local go to place for excellent upscale Italian dining. Staff is excellent from Italy. Adds to the ambience overall, a great experience every time.

Giuseppe was a very good server.. his partner Vincenzo came over to check on us also.. Service by these guys was very good.. Food was a bit off.. the Lasagna was better on our last visit.. not consistent.. ambiance is very nice..
