Real little gem of a place. The food was absolutely brilliant. Service very chilled and great. Only thing I’ll say is that I don’t know why they had squeezed everyone at the back of the restaurant near the kitchen, when the front section was completely empty. We almost didn’t walk in because we thought it was completely dead inside. My recommendation is to seat people in the front section of the restaurant first as it’s a nicer more open space, and also it will look lively to those walking past.

My girlfriend and I went to aRoqa for dinner before a Broadway show. Food was good, but the portions were pretty small. Everything came out in time for us to make our show and the wait staff was very friendly and provided their recommendations. Would return if back in Chelsea and in the mood for Indian.

I will say that this was some of the best Indian food I have eaten in NYC during my 40 years in the city. The presentation was attractive, spicing was even-handed, and each bite was good. The staff was kind, thoughtful and attentive. However, neither the food nor the service was at the level of a Michelin-noted restaurant in my opinion, but I was charged for that. Before writing this, I spent time again on aRoqa's website and there was a level of attention to detail, particularly in photos of the food, that was missing last night. I hope some adjustments will be made as I would like to return. Thank you.
