Billed as an upscale Chinese restaurant. The food is average to poor. The mandarin salad came out as a pile of arugula with minimal mandarin and nuts. The vegetable medley soup was scallions and mushrooms with soggy noodles. The Kung pao chicken and dim sum were just OK. The crispy mushroom rice tasted like stale rice, and mushrooms, which had been sitting on your kitchen counter for a couple days. While the service and organization, I’m sure will improve, the food had better.

This was our first time at Aves and we will definitely come back. The best dish was the Peking Duck. Just delicious with the condiments. We had a lovely salad (the Mandarin but without duck since we also order duck) too and it was very refreshing. And a nice zinfandel to go with everything. Really excellent!

The food was excellent but the kitchen is not yet ready. My appetizer came twenty minutes before my wife’s appetizer. I saw multiple instances where the waiters brought food to the wrong tables. At the table next to ours, food was sent back as being too spicy, even those dishes were not marked as spicy on the menu. The restaurant opened recently, and we will go back in a few months when these problems are hopefully resolved.

Sloppy presentation and service. Attempts at doing fancy Chinese, but misses because of poor quality of food. Don’t waste your money here. There are plenty of other great Chinese places nearby.

We had two types of dim sum and fried calamari as appetizers. Our main courses were steamed fish, half duck, stir fried pork, and pea shoots. Everything was terrific, though the dim sum were overpriced. We also got the mushroom rice, which was fine, but I wouldn’t bother to order it again. The space is beautiful and the staff were exceptionally nice and gracious, even when I knocked over a glass of water. We will definitely return

So excited to have this upscale Chinese restaurant in The Upper Westside! Excellent food with excellent service. Our only complaint was the noise factor when when seated upstairs.

We had a delightful early New Year’s Eve dinner. The ambiance is welcoming and calming! The service was exceptional and the food was delicious! Try the Peking Duck!! Amazing!
